Top 5 Fall books on my TBR

I am fully aware that I am pushing it a little bit since fall doesn’t even officially begin until next week. It is also 90 degrees here in Los Angeles today, so definitely not fall weather. Sorry not sorry. We all need a little joy and if pushing up fall leads to pushing up Christmas then lets get this going!

I have so many books I’m looking forward to right now, but here are my top 5 at the moment. I’m not going to say too much about these books, mostly because they are sequels in a series and I don’t want to give out spoilers.

The Bone Ships Wake by RJ Barker

Release Date: 9/28/21

A new series to me, I completely devoured the first two. Now waiting for the third and I am so happy this comes out next week. I can’t wait to see what happens with the main characters.

The sea dragons are returning, and Joron Twiner’s dreams of freedom lie shattered. His Shipwife is gone and all he has left is revenge.

The Quicksilver Court by Melissa Caruso

Release date: 10/12/21

So after I finish Bone Ships Wake, I have this little beauty to look forward to. Book two in the series looks to be very exciting!!

The Quicksilver Court continues the wildly original epic fantasy series bursting with intrigue and ambition, questioned loyalties, and broken magic that began with The Obsidian Tower.

The Liar’s Knot by M.A. Carrick

Release date: 12/9/21

Only two months to go for this one! I just finished book one and I could kick myself that I didn’t request it on Netgalley a long time ago. Crossing my fingers I get the ARC for this one!

Trust is the thread that binds us . . . and the rope that hangs us.

In Nadezra, peace is as tenuous as a single thread. The ruthless House Indestor has been destroyed, but darkness still weaves through the city’s filthy back alleys and jewel-bright gardens, seen by those who know where to look.

The Bone Shard Emperor by Andrea Stewart

Release date: 11/9/21

OMG November release? I’m going to have such a great next few months aren’t I? Featuring one of the best most adorable weird little water creatures, Mephi, I can’t wait to read this second book in the series.

The Bone Shard Emperor is the unmissable sequel to The Bone Shard Daughter, one of the biggest fantasy debuts of 2020 – a captivating tale of magic, revolution and mystery, where a young woman’s sense of identity will make or break an empire.

A Spindle Splintered by Alix E. Harrow

Release date: 10/5/21

This is the only one of the group that is a first book in the series. It is also the one I know least about, except that it is written by Alix E. Harrow and that is more than enough for me to put it on my must read list. Sure to be great!

It’s Zinnia Gray’s twenty-first birthday, which is extra-special because it’s the last birthday she’ll ever have. When she was young, an industrial accident left Zinnia with a rare condition. Not much is known about her illness, just that no one has lived past twenty-one.

Her best friend Charm is intent on making Zinnia’s last birthday special with a full sleeping beauty experience, complete with a tower and a spinning wheel. But when Zinnia pricks her finger, something strange and unexpected happens, and she finds herself falling through worlds, with another sleeping beauty, just as desperate to escape her fate.

Well that’s my list! It wasn’t until I started putting this together that I realized they are all coming out so close to each other. Now I’m really excited!
