Top 5 Wednesday – 2019 books

Welcome back to Top 5 Wednesday.  This is a meme started in November of 2013 and is still going strong! If you’re interested in being a part of it please see the group on Goodreads.

This week’s topic is Books I’m looking forward to in 2019.

It’s not exactly Wednesday as I type this, but I still wanted to focus on some books I am looking forward to. Some may not even have cover art yet! I’m still waiting for them…

Stormsong – C.L. Polk

Tentative Release Date: July 16, 2019

This will be book two in The Kingston Cycle series. The first was Witchmark, you can read my review at the link. The first book was fantastic. I’m keeping my eyes peeled for ARC’s for this second volume. Interestingly I’ve also seen some info saying the book is going to be titled Greystar. I’m not sure which is the final name but we’ll see.

Red Mantle – Maria Turtschaninoff

Tentative Release Date: June 9, 2019

This is the third book in The Red Abbey Chronicles. You can find my reviews for books Maresi (Book 1) and Naondel (Book 2) at the links. These books are a wonderful set, little feminist gems. I love them so much, I can’t wait to read the last book in the series.

Prism Cloud – Jeff Wheeler

Tentative Release Date: March 5, 2019

This is book #4 in the Harbinger series, following Storm Glass (Book 1), Mirror Gate (Book 2), and Iron Garland (Book 3). They are all excellent. I’ve only just started reading this author in 2018 and I’ve already finished 18 of his books, lol this will be 19!! Sign me up!

Time’s Demon – D. B. Jackson

Tentative Release Date: May 7, 2019

I must really love book series don’t I? I’m four for four so far. This is book 2 of the Islevale series. Time’s Children was an excellent book I discovered this year. I’m looking forward to the next installment!

Tentative Release Date: August 22, 2019

Why stop a good thing … let’s go with another series, this time Founders series. Foundryside (Book 1) was a fantastic find last year. Great magic system, and terrific characters. This is an easy choice.

So many good books to choose from … I do have some books that I was looking forward to in 2019 that I already got my hands on. I devoured both The Winter of the Witch and The Book of Flora immediately after I got the ARC’s! But they also come out in early 2019. So far the new year is bringing some really good stuff!
